Propellerheads answer to Pro Tools: Record

They really late on this and you still don't get full compatibilities in other DAW's such as Pro Tools, Ableton Live and Steinberg Cubase. We'll see if this new application is more than just a Record button.

Twikini - Need a Networking App for your Pocket PC

In these days of artists and producers wanting to get closer to their fan base they need to use the latest technology to achieve so. For my pocket pc w/Windows Mobile lately I've been trying out and now using Twikini an application that allows Tweets from Twitter to be accomplished with ease. Try it haven't been disappointed yet.

Dwele "If You Want To" sample

OK! I've been listening to the Dwele "Sketches of a Man" album since it dropped day one. By far this is one of or arguably the best R&B album that dropped in 08'.

I just recently came upon the sample for the song "If You Want To". The crazy thing about it is that the sample doesn't come up until...well, I let you hear it for yourself.

Never Explain Love - Al Jarreau

It's not where it was at but during the whole song I'm just waiting like where is the sample, right even before it drops, my jaw-drops. Even before it appears I knew it was coming right at that moment, it gave me that goose bump kind of feeling instantly.

Although, I've always listened to whole tracks and albums to find samples even this one will make continue to hold to that same process of finding great loops. Like I told a kid last year about sampling records, "If you can't feel it, there ain't no point sampling it."

The Foreign Exchange Daykeeper feat. Muhsinah *Lyrics*

The Foreign Exchange "Daykeeper" Lyrics

Phonte

I can’t sleep at night

Cause they won’t see me

Running from the daylight

To where she keeps me and

When the sun rises she watches over me

Waiting for the daylight

Cause then she’ll keep me

In the safety of her arms

She never leaves me and

When the sunrises she watches over me (2X)

Muhsinah

He tells me all his secrets

He thinks nobody knows

We’re laid together in daylight

I love him so

And when the sunrises he watches over me (2X)

Phonte

It’s not like it was before

And she can’t keep me anymore

She loves me anymore (2X)

Muhsinah

He tells me all his secrets

He thinks nobody knows

We’re laid together in daylight

I love him so

And when the sunrises he watches over me (2X)

Phonte

She loves me (7X)

Muhsinah

Why don’t cha stay here with me?

I pray that our morning won’t leave

Let me keep you then you’ll see

Don’t hide the truth from yourself

Cause you that I’ll love and protect

Let me keep you here with me

Phonte

It’s not like it was before

And she can’t keep me anymore

She loves me anymore (2X)

Muhsinah

He tells me all his secrets

He thinks nobody knows

We’re laid together in daylight

I love him so

And when the sunrises he watches over me (2X)

Phonte

She loves me (7X)

Anticipation of "Foreign Exchange: Leave It All Behind"

Is it me or is Nicolay the Bobby Caldwell of producers in the hip hop community?
After the long wait, we finally get something from the duo consisting of rapper/singer Phonte (Little Brother) and hip hop producer Nicolay who call themselves "Foreign Exchange". This new promotion idea of instant message mini movies is a fresh, innovating and mind-simulating concept. Now, all we need is to hear the new material for the album coming out this fall.

Akai MPD 16 Problem?

Although the AKAI MPD 24 and AKAI MPD 32 are upgrades over the AKAI MPD 16, the general bedroom producer and I still has and uses an AKAI MPD16.

My MPD 16 kept coming up with this disconnect error every time the USB cable jiggled a little when moving the MPD device. Mainly, because the USB cable that comes with the MPD isn't securly fitted into the USB out of the device. I don't know if that is error on the behalf of AKAI or not? Anyways, the simple solution was to get one of these:

That's right, a M-Audio UNO. There are other alternatives but this was the easier fix. Instead of using a USB connection going straight to MIDI fixed the problem. The USB cable is still needed only when I have to change my MIDI channel settings such as what pad controls what note. Also, a DC9V power supply is needed to use the device. This is for anyone with an MPD 16 that had this problem.
